3 Months

I'm 3 months old today!

He was very mellow today, we tried everything we could to capture a smile.
He was too fast for the camera though.

This is the closest we got later on that night. STINKER!

Super long baby!!!

Daddy smooshing those baby cheeks!!!!

I love this picture. He looks like such a baby!!

Lifting up our head like a big boy. We have to do belly time on our boppy now. If we try doing belly time on the floor, he cheats and rolls over to his back IMMEDIATELY. :D

Talking to that daddy

Getting ready for bed

Smiles McGee

He can clap his feet :P

Look at that face!
So hilarious!!!!

What we have learned in 3 months:

  • Isaac has learned how to scream. :/ He uses this skill when he dislikes something. It is very high pitched. I think he actually breaks the sound barrier.

  • We are drooling everywhere

  • Hands are still our favorite. We are even weaning ourself off the binky! If you offer it to him, he'll take it for a second or two. Then he'll spit it out and shove his hands in his mouth.

  • We love our hands, but we have also discovered our feet! He grabs at them all the time. He will hold on to one foot, with the other hand (of course) in his mouth.

  • As previously mentioned, he can now roll over!! He does it all the time. :)

  • Our smiles are different. We still have that beautiful gummy smile, but when we like to change it up a bit--we throw the tongue in there. As pictured above.

  • He did LAUGH, once or twice. A full on giggle. Unfortunately--only when mommy was there to witness it. Because of that fact, daddy refuses to believe it took place. BUT IT DID. :D

  • We may end up being a soccer player...He LOVES to kick. We lay him on his playmat, and put the music settings to where it changes whenever he hits it. He loves it! He kicks it over and over again, changing the music every 1-2 seconds.....

  • He really enjoys having books read to him. He studies each page intently.

  • Mommy and daddy wonder if he knows that the world is not a 24 hour musical. Seeing as we always sing to him. All day and about everything. He thoroughly enjoys it!

  • Oh! AND he loves his mommy and daddy the mostest!

What a difference a day can make...

While mommy was away at work, Isaac decided it was a good time to reach a new milestone for the first time!!! While I am sad that I missed it, I'm ecstatic that daddy was there to capture it on video to share with me and all of you. Now, don't worry. I had a stern talking to with Isaac, and he promised to not have anymore "first's" while mommy isn't there to witness it. :)
Enjoy our big boy!

Gone Picture Crazy

"Real Men Wear Diapers"

It's amazing how just a small adjustment in our facial expression can make us look like such a little boy!!
Looking at this picture, I can see Isaac as a 2 year old running around...

Some "sibling" time after mommy left for work.

Yup, I said it. The dreaded 4 letter word. WORK. I started back to work, reluctantly, last Monday. Leaving that first day was incredibly difficult. I had only ever been away from Isaac for a couple of hours, at best. A whole 15 hours of separation weighed heavy on my heart. I fought back tears the whole way there. Ok--- So, I didn't end up winning that fight, but I held it together the best I could. I kept reminding myself of all of the blessings in my life. God has been so amazing, and it would be easy to get frustrated and focus on the fact that I was unhappy about having to leave my baby. BUT I chose to focus on how God has answered my prayers, and how faithful He is. And how good He is. And how much He loves me. In doing this, I realized that God had given me exactly what I had prayed for, for so many years. I just didn't realize it because He answered my prayer not in the way I had asked. Which we all know, He tends to do. :) Family's first. My husband and my son are the most precious things in the world to me. I wanted us to all be able to be together as a family as much as possible. I thought the best way to facilitate that would be me staying at home, and Dan working. Instead of God granting me that, He did me one better. I "get" to go back to work. It's a blessing. The best way for us all to be together as much as possible is me working full time(3 nights a week) and Dan playing drums on the weekends. This way, we see eachother everyday. Which in this day and age is rare. When I'm working, Dan is taking care of our son, and when Dan is working, I am taking care of our son. What a luxury! Dan and I see eachother, and spend more time together with Isaac than a lot of other families are able to. We both recognize what a blessing that is, and we are extremely thankful. So, although I don't get to be a stay at home mom, I am still extremely blessed. AND surprisingly, I enjoy being back at work. I love my job, and I missed my friends. Working makes me appreciate and love Isaac even more, and oddly enough, loving Isaac and being his mom, makes me a better nurse.
Win Win.

Playtime : 11 Weeks 2 Days

Some belly time cuteness

Practicing our fine motor skills

He really focuses on grabbing things

Fingers can be distracting though

And hands are delicious.

But the ceiling fan still trumps all in grabbing our attention

Looking super cute with huge baby eyes

Can someone please get this toy out of my way, so I can get to my hands??

Our skills in action..
