Pregnancy Photoshoot

My best friend Bonnie is an amazing photographer. Though she would never give herself enough credit. She took our engagement photos oh so many years ago now, which are amazing, and still hanging up in our house today.  Dan and I were so very blessed that she and her husband Charles agreed to photograph this very special time in our lives yet again. This past Saturday, April 24th (35 weeks pregnant), we ran amuck all over Hermann Park and downtown Houston and captured these amazing photos. Please forgive the MASS amount, I couldn't narrow it down. These were chosen from some 200 photos...ENJOY!!

At The Houston Children's Museum

Dan and I love that you can see Bonnie&Charles' reflection in the belly :)

My sweet little son...

36 Weeks!

Your Baby:

Your baby continues to put on weight at about ½ pound each week. This layer of fat will help your baby regulate his body temperature after leaving your climate-controlled womb. In fact, your baby will be 15 percent fat at birth (and you ... well that's another story). Even in the womb, your baby can listen, feel, touch and see. The only thing separating him from living in the outside world is a little thing called the birth canal. Other highlights this week:
His gums are firm with ridges that look somewhat like teeth, though his actual pearly whites won't start breaking through until he's between three months and a year old.
Your baby has definite patterns of sleep and wakefulness—opening his eyes while awake and closing them while sleeping. Your baby will become alert and turn his head toward light and sound just as a newborn would—except when you put on that Celine Dion CD. Then the baby puts his hands up, turns away and gurgles, "Oh no you didn't!"
Your baby is now around 18½ inches long and nearly 6 pounds—just about as big as a breadbox!

I think it's funny they compared his size to a breadbox, because there's a position he gets in in my belly that I call "the breadbowl".  Anyhow, not much new to update this week. We are getting all kinds of things accomplished because we of course are running out of time. :)  I was cancelled from work on Thursday night!!! PTL!! So I spent the night doing some well needed deep spring cleaning. I feel so much better in the house now. Hopefully Isaac comes sooner than later or else I am going to have to do that work all over again before he gets here. :/ Last night Dan put together the stroller!! We planned on getting the car thoroughly washed today inside and out before we put the carseat in, but it rained all day. :(   (Pictures to come when it's in the car!)   BUT we did clean and reorganize the garage!! When I say we, I mean I stood around and told Dan where to move things. :) Dan was very apprehensive at first, but he is very glad that we did it now that we are done. We also met with our Pediatrician today, whom we loved. So there's one more thing accomplished! Tomorrow we are taking our hospital tour so that Dan knows where to drive and park on the "big day".  :) We are getting REALLY excited. and scared. but REALLY excited. We are especially looking forward to seeing and spending time with all of the family that will be coming into town to celebrate Isaac's arrival with us. We are very blessed to have such great family and friends. <3
