Isaac's first days at home :]

So I know that I am terrible at updating this thing as of late, and I apologize. The very thought of the blog is overwhelming to me, so I have been avoiding it. :(  I know that this is the only way that a lot of people get updates, so I am going to attempt to be better. You know what would help encourage me to blog more often? Comments! Your comments are the highlight of the blogging experience for me. So if you all help to encourage me in that way, I know I can certainly be better on my end.

So on to the pictures! I know that's what you all want anyway!! AND I can't blame you. He is a cutie patootie. :)

This was our first meal at home.

COUSINS!! Everyone came over to welcome baby Isaac home. Even brand new baby Calum!

Day of Life 1 and 2 in the hospital

So we had an amazing delivery, and a short hospitalization to boot! We were moved over to the post partum floor around 1130pm on the 27th. We never slept a wink that entire day. :) First things first, mommy and daddy got some food. I was STARVING after not having eaten for about 24 hours at that point. Before Isaac could eat, he got his first bath. :)

He hated his bath, the only time he stopped crying is when she combed his hair. :)

This is his super fussy face. I just want to eat him up.

Isaac had to get his blood sugar checked again, because it was 53 initially, and 49 the second time. The nursery nurse said that since he was a big baby they wanted to keep a close eye on it. The goal is for his glucose to be over 50, so that second glucose being 49 bought him another heel stick. :( Mommy didn't want to take any chances, and definitely didn't want a NICU visit, so the nurse gave Isaac some formula. When we rechecked, the glucose was in the 70's, but he needed to have 2 consecutive glucose's over 50. So they checked it one more time, and it was 54. So we were in the clear. We loved on him and kept him in the room with us the entire time. Needless to say, it was a very long night. He didn't sleep much, and he wanted to nurse non-stop.

This was very late into the night, but we were still on a natural high from delivery, so it was ok. Isaac was senor fussy pants from 4am on until 7 something, so we nursed nonstop because that was the only thing that would calm him. My milk had still not come in, and since I didn't want him to get jaundice we decided to supplement him with some more formula. I'm a NICU nurse people. There will be no admissions for hypoglycemia or hyperbilirubinemia. :)

Burping

Not even 10 hours old and already holding up his head!

So stinkin sweet

He's in love <3

This was the start of day 2 in the hospital. We had some visitors, and just rested. We didn't take any pictures for some reason, but our visitors did!  I blame sleep deprivation. Isaac got his circumcision and was not happy about it. Dan and I made sure to be there for it, but we definitely didn't document the event with pictures. Poor baby boy. Friday came and went without a hitch, and without very much sleep for mom and dad. :/

Saturday we were told we could go home! Isaac had to have a bili check and get a newborn screen, but after that we were cleared to go!

Getting changed into our take home outfit

The take home outfit!

I think he likes it :)

Oh wait..

Maybe not :/

Binky's make everything better

We were exhausted

but so very blessed.

I look like a hot mess here. Please just focus on the cuteness of the baby!

In our carseat

He loved the carride home. He slept the entire way.
