2 Months 3 Days

We were unable to take our 2 month picture in our green chair seeing as we were in Michigan and the chair remained in Houston. SO we had to be flexible and take the pictures when we got home. :) Here's our big boy!

Sitting up on our own now.

We can also smile when we see someone we love. AKA daddy. :)

Daddy's so funny

We are still not completely stable sitting up, still need Mommy and Daddy. Yay!

2 MONTHS

Talking & Singing to daddy

We had quite the day today. Today we are 2 months old! Where does the time go? We spent time with Nana and Papa, said our first word, saw Grandma, celebrated at Mongolian Barbeque... Wait--what was that about a first word?? Oh yeah--Isaac said his first word! He was a bit of a ventriloquist, seeing as his lips didn't move when he said it, BUT he said it none the less. What was this first word, you ask? Watch and see...

Isaac's First Word :)

Now he said his first word about 10 times in a row. We all just sat there is pure amazement. 10 times in a row is no fluke people!! SMARTEST BABY ALIVE!!
BUT by the time I got the camera, he kind of lost interest. He still said it a couple of times more, but not nearly as clear as before I grabbed the camera--OF COURSE!

Grandma showing us her garden.

:)

Playing with Momma :)

We celebrated our 2 month birthday at Mongolian Barbeque. Isaac and Papa thought it was awesome, so naturally they did this...

Pound it! So funny!!

What we have learned in 2 months:

  • Isaac used to love sleeping in everyone's arms, now he prefers to sleep in his bassinet.  That way he actually stays sleeping.  BUT he still loves to be rocked and cuddled.

  • We're pretty sure he now loves his Halo Sleep Sack.

  • He LOVES to smile. He is such a happy boy, he smiles all the time!

  • He also loves talking. I don't know where he got that from. :) He'll talk and talk and talk to you. It's super sweet.

  • We have found our hands and try to put them in our mouth all the time. We find our thumb every once and a while, but still aren't coordinated enough to get at it when we want it.

  • Isaac's favorite song is still "Rise and Shine and Sing For Your Breakfast". It is meant to be a wake up song, but we slow it down and sing it as a lullaby. When all else fails to calm him down, we pull this one out. WORKS EVERY TIME. Seriously. It's funny, because while we are singing "Rise and Shine" we are hoping he will fall asleep. He usually does, even amidst mommy and daddy's laughter.

  • He cries real tears now. So sad.

  • He is a drooling machine.

  • He can lift up his head like a pro, but is becoming lazy, and would prefer not to. That being the case, tummy time is not our favorite. :/

  • He LOVES being outside. He always calms down when we take him outside. It's awesome.

  • Ceiling fans still amaze him.

  • Still love our zebra binky. :)

  • He loves laying on his back, he kicks his feet around like crazy. He is pulling them in towards his chest a lot now. So I think we will soon find our feet.

  • One great thing for mommy and daddy: Isaac started sleeping 6 straight hours at night at 6 weeks, and is now sleeping 8 hours. His bedtime is right after his 9pm feeding. He passes out immediately and stays sleeping until 6am. We change him and feed him and he sleeps until 9am, which is when our day begins. It is amazing for us, and for him.

  • We will sometimes hear him playing and cooing in his bassinet by himself. It's the sweetest thing.
  • Two of the cutest things we have ever seen: When Isaac smiles he sometimes squinches up his nose, it's so cute! He also does a slow blink when he's lookin at something he likes. Like he is flirting and batting his eyelashes. SLOW BLINK AND NOSE SQUINCH! Can't get any cuter than that!!
Another month behind us already....Sigh

A beautiful day in Michigan called for some well needed fresh air and outdoor playtime.

Michigan: Week 2, Day 1

Today we went over to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's. Our Great Aunt Nan was there too, but she's camera shy, so we won't post any pictures per her request. ;) We enjoyed some amazing Beirut Palace and eachothers company. :D

Comfy with Great Grandpa

We were having fun!

We loved playing with our Great Grandma!

:)

We also stopped by Erma's today for some frozen custard. DELICIOUS. It was the last day for Raspberry and Bavarian Cheesecake. We would have taken pictures, but we were too busy eating. :P

On the road again....

So if you have never had the pleasure of roadtripping with an 8 week old, I recommend you never try. It was ok. It was long, long, long. Stopping every 3 hours to eat. Eating for about an hour. Stretching our legs and playing a bit. Then back on the road for an hour to hour and a half, and then stop again to eat. This goes on all day. Not to mention the poor baby stuck in a carseat ALL DAY. Sigh. It was exhausting and it makes for a cranky baby the next day. BUT it was totally worth it to see all of our Kentucky family. We would do it all over, again and again.

Eating on the road. We thought daddy needed some help with holding our bottle.

Enjoying some fresh air
