My mortal enemy this week....
I conquered this foe in less than 2 minutes people. I was quite proud of myself since I was born with the inability to "chug", or to handle detestable flavors. This was actually not too bad. I was expecting to have to consume a much smaller volume, so I was very put off when they handed me this 10oz bad boy. I think it ended up working to my advantage though. I think that the "bad taste" was watered down a bit. It did taste like very sugary medicine, but reminded me of the days of old when I used to enjoy a very sugary beverage by choice. I.E. Dear sweet, lovely Dr. Pepper. Not that this tasted like Dr. Pepper, at all, but it reminded me of sugary sweet past times. I was very glad it was WAY better than I was expecting it to be. I had my blood drawn an hour after I finished the drink and am assuming I will find out the results with the next appointment.
My belly is measuring right where it should be, 27 inches for 27 weeks. Baby's heart rate was in the 130's with the fetal doppler. I know that baby's heart rates fluctuate and all but this was quite surprising to me since baby boy's heart rate has always been in the 150's. Dr. Ortique wasn't concerned at all of course. Baby was moving all over and was giving her a hard time trying to get his heart rate. ;) She asked me all the same questions, nothing new this appointment. I am going to be seen every 2 weeks now, YIPPEE. I'm not too excited about that long drive so often now, but I do know that it is necessary. I only gained 4lbs since the last visit!! I was nervous it was going to be another 10! Dr. Ortique attributed the lower weight gain to the fact that I am now off of Propanolol. I thought that was such a good idea that I now blame the last visit's 10lb weight gain soley on the Propanolol. :] She also gave me homework. I have to do kick counts twice a day, every day. I don't really mind doing it. I actually enjoy it, baby boy moves so much that I am done in about 2-3 minutes each time. I love feeling this little boy move. It is happening more and more and is getting so much stronger. Some times he is making such large continuous movements in there that I wonder what it is exactly that he is doing. I wish I could see!!! Anyone invent that portable purse sized ultrasound machine for me yet?

Yuck, Ick, and Eewww. I only had to drink about a quarter of that and Calum was bouncing off the walls. I think I may have even heard a faint "Hiii-YAH" or two coming from my belly? Glad you enjoyed the sugar :)
ReplyDeletege has a small ultrasound machine they were running commercials for it during the olympics. you work at a hospital go "steal" one.
