Your Baby:
This week the final touches are being added to your mini-masterpiece and most of his development is going to packing on the pounds. While baby's movements may be becoming less jerky, he may do his final somersault in the womb soon—to put himself into the head-down position for birth. Other fascinating facts:
Your little Karate Kid can't quite pack the punch he used to due to the limited space inside the womb these days. You're likely to feel more wiggles, stretches and rolls than kicks and jabs. The extra layer of fat your baby is adding will create those cute dimples on your baby's elbows and knees. His liver has begun processing his waste products, so you know which organ to thank when he has his first blowout up the back of his onesie.
Baby's nails are growing so long they may curl over the tips of his tiny fingers and toes before he sees a pair of clippers. He'll be in serious need of a mani-pedi once he's born (as will you).
Your baby is now about 5½ pounds and over 18 inches long—about the size of one of those price-club sheet cakes.
Well we had our ultrasound today with Dr. Reiter to see how Isaac is doing. Everything looks wonderful! He was being rowdy as usual, as soon as I layed down he was moving EVERYWHERE. Thankfully he settled down before Dr. Reiter came in to do the ultrasound. There is no goiter, PTL! Baby boy is large. :/ Even though the info I've looked up here says that he should be around 5 1/2 pounds at this point, the ultrasound measures him in at around 6 pounds 8 ounces! Dr. Reiter said that if I do make it to 40 weeks, I'll be looking at an 8 1/2 pound baby here! GEEZ LOUISE!! He told me that I am going to have to work very hard to get this baby out, especially since his head is larger than average. Thanks Dan. :] We all know that labor is work though, so we are going into this prepared for that. I am scheduled to have another ultrasound with him in 3 weeks, if I am still pregnant. ;) That sounds crazy, doesn't it?
I had a wonderful shower last Saturday thrown by my best friend Bonnie. I may be able to post pics later, have to get them from Bonnie first. It was great to see people that I don't get to spend that much time with and of course to play all of our silly baby games. That makes me think of reindeer games for some reason. Ahhh Christmas. It's right around the corner!!! Tomorrow, Bonnie is going to be taking some pregnancy photos for us. I am super excited! I just pray that the Houston weather cooperates for us. Today was horribly muggy and hot. :( Houston summer is upon us.
Dan and I have completed the nursery--- for the most part. Can you ever really say that it is 100% complete? We keep doing little things here and there. Here are the most recent things we've done.
We took his closet door off, cuz we wanted to and put up curtains in it's place. I love them. <3
We have the whole crib put together. Not that he'll be sleeping in it that often in the beginning, but at least it's complete. We have a 5 in 1 in our bedroom that he'll be sleeping in for the first couple of months. :)
So stinkin cute. :p
My brother Mark was awesome and bought us our carseat and stroller!!! We got it in the mail a couple of days ago!! We have to get that in the car already. I'll post pictures when we actually have it in! Thanks so much Mark, you;'re the best!! Time is flying by. We took all of our Target gift cards and purchased our baby monitor tonight. Yet another thing that needs some minimal assembly. Poor Dan's list of things to put together isn't getting any shorter. We have boxes all over our house of things that need assembly. It's a tad overwhelming. Anyone handy wanna come over and put things together for us? :D
Baby Momma at 35 Weeks:
I've been feeling well, just tired. I'm getting a tad more uncomfortable these days. I'm pretty sure I've been contracting here on and off. Not just Braxton hicks either. :/ Just getting prepared! Still emotional and teary. Not much you can do about that. I just have no idea how to prepare for this huge life change that is right upon us. I am BEYOND excited, but it is overwhelming to say the least. So I just hope everyone around me can have some patience, because I may tend to fly off the handle...here and there...
Baby Belly at 35 Weeks:
Oh my goodness! I think you're belly is bigger than it was a week ago!! You look great! The nursery looks so cute!! I hope your pictures went well today!
