and looking very serious
Pointing
Sunday's are very busy days for us, and we squeezed in taking pictures right before naptime.
These smiles were hard to come by, but we got 'em!
- We are now back to enjoying our bottle. Go figure! It's funny though. He loves to take mini breaks during eating to play. We don't give him toys, or put him down on the floor or anything like that. He finds fun in the sofa arm, the cap to his bottle, pillows, etc. He loves playing with his curtains in his nursery and scratching at the plastic pull thing for the recliner. Pretty much anything that doesn't involve drinking his bubba. Sometimes playing can last from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. But he usually finishes his bubba for mommy and daddy. For anyone else, well that's a different story...
- He figured out how to point all of a sudden. He just woke up one morning and had a new skill. Seriously! He just all of a sudden will point at everything and anything. He is so funny. He'll be crying, and naturally we will pick him up and comfort him. He will stop crying immediately, and with tears still in his eyes, he'll start pointing. And all will be right with the world. :)
- He has been able to give you five for a while now, but he is still pretty iffy on who he will do it for.
- He is "drumming" on everything these days. Which is pretty fun. He mimics you if you start it first. ;)
- He is tolerating tummy time more and more. We can last a lot longer than we used to before we start fussing. He is trying to crawl, but can't figure out how to pull his little legs underneath him. So for now we are military crawling. Backwards. Baby steps people. Baby steps.
- Speaking of walking. This little boy just all of a sudden became a great walker. Before he was completely uncoordinated, and would have to be prompted to move each foot. Now he does it himself and walks pretty fast, while we are holding his hands of course. He is such a proud little monkey when he is standing or walking. It is the cutest thing ever.
- He is becoming a more flexible baby when it comes to his schedule. We don't have anything set in stone these days. More of a flexible routine per say. He still takes two naps a day ranging from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. He can be stretched now to miss one nap, if need be, and he won't completely fall a part. This makes life much easier for all of us. :)
- He loves bath time!! He can hang for a while in there, splashing away! His favorite toy is a little red bathtime crab. Which is very fitting. ;) He always grabs that toy first and pulls it into the tub. He will usually hold onto it the entire time. Even if he starts playing with another toy, he will still be holding the little red crab in his other hand. Pretty stinkin precious. He also started this new habit of hanging one foot out of the tub while he is sitting up. It looks completely uncomfortable, and really hard to balance, but he does it on purpose. Everytime you pop his little leg back into the tub and under the water, he throws it back over again! Such a silly goose!
- Isaac has now become enamoured with the dogs. He completely ignored them for months, and now all of a sudden he can't get enough of them. He thinks they are absolutely hilarious, and cracks up whenever he sees them. Which makes all of us crack up!
- One of the funniest(to us) things that Isaac has been doing for a couple of months now happens first thing in the morning. I am going to have to video it so that you will all believe me! We think that Isaac may be allergic to bright sunlight. :/ Sounds ridiculous I know. BUT every morning we do the same routine. We open his curtains, then open his blinds to let the sun in, and he is laying in his crib kicking and smiling away. As soon as we open the blinds and all that sunlight pours in onto him, he sneezes. HE DOES IT CONSTANTLY. Now there may be a morning, or time, here or there that he may not do it, but we are at a 95% success rate here people! The other day when we were in the car, the sun hit him while he was in his carseat and he sneezed!! I don't really think he's allergic to bright sunlight, just one of my kids funny little quirks!
- Just to get this documented so that I don't ever forget, there's another quirk similar to the one listed above that Isaac started doing around 2 months when he got his first cold. Whenever he would cough, it was always followed by a sneeze, without fail. It's the cutest thing to hear! Ahem, Ahem, A-Choo!! Finished with a giant smile because, as we all know, sneezing is funny. :D
