What we have learned in 11 Months:
- Isaac LOVES bread. This is not a new occurance. Ever since we have started feeding him "big kid" food, we've noticed his affinity for it. He can have a variety of foods placed in front of him and he will graze over all of it and pick out all of the bread to eat first. So comical. I think he gets that from his Papa. ;)
- Speaking of food. This kid LOVES it. Any kind really. He will try it all, he is not picky. Even the aforementioned green beans that he used to despise, he now gladly and willingly opens up for. No tears, no dry heaving, nothing. All it took was introducing them a half a dozen times, and he now thinks they are pretty darn good. But he literally loves to eat. He will eat and eat and eat and eat. We only think that we have seen him full twice. Every time we feed him, we just have to stop offering him food, because we think, "He MUST be full by now!" He probably eats more than I do for breakfast, no joke. But he is very interested in whatever you are eating or drinking. He wants nothing more than for you to share with him. We gladly oblige, on most occassions. :)
- He HATES sippy cups. We have now tried 2 different kinds, and he refuses both. He just smashes things with them. He'll groan and push them away when you put them up to his mouth. I am thinking that we are just going to skip them all together. He does however LOVE to drink out of our cups or bottles. It is quite messy, but he will actually "ask" for more.
- He is really into the "throwing things on the floor" stage. It's this great little game that all parents know far to well. You give him a toy, he takes it, and throws it on the floor. He then stretches SO far to try and get again. So naturally, you think that he wants it now. So you give in and get for him, again. You then realize that he only wants it so that he can throw it on the floor. And you can start the whole process all over again. :/ Sigh.
- This month has been sort of momentous. We actually took Isaac to the gym with us, and left him at the nursery. :O With complete strangers. Crazy, I know. The first time Dan dropped him off, he lasted about 15 mintues before he was paged to come console a sobbing, snotty mess that was Isaac. The second time we both dropped him off, and he was a champ. No tears, no snot. Success. :D That little bit of a break is kind of nice. And if we miss him too much, we only have to go as far as downstairs to collect him.
- Isaac has started dancing whenever his toys start to play music. It is SO funny!!! He's got moves, too!! A couple months back he showcased, "The Sprinkler". Yeah, and with no dance lessons. Amazing!
- For some reason, feet have become a sort of delicacy around here. Or at least you would think so, with how often Isaac shoves his in his mouth. Seriously.
- Isaac has been "crawling" all over us these days. He'll climb up and down, and try to dive and slide. Of course, when we put him on the floor. Nothing. Nada. It will be soon though.
- He has gotten pretty adventurous too. He tries pulling himself up on everything! Even things that aren't very stable. :/ He is able to sit on his knees, and check things out. It's pretty awesome and all in the past two weeks!!
- He is a sit and spin master. He can turn in a circle super fast. It's pretty funny.
- Speaking of funny. This kid is hilarious, and he finds everything funny. As I mentioned before, he thinks sniffing is the best thing ever. And the dogs? Comedy geniuses.
