The Butterfly & Entomology Exhibit

On the same day that we visited the dinosaurs, we also made a stop to learn about some insects. We were expecting to have just a butterfly experience but were delighted to find out that we would be able to learn a few facts about some very interesting bugs. Once again, Mommy and Daddy were amazed with all of the creepy crawlies. Meanwhile, Isaac could be found running around pushing all of the buttons hoping they would make some sort of intriguing noise. Which to his delight, they did. So in the end, we were all very satisfied with our experience.  I would have to say that this was my very favorite part of our day. Which is evidenced by the slew of pictures I'm about to share with you.  :)  Enjoy!

Stick Bugs!

Beetles!

All real Butterflies!

This exhibit was awesome. The whole display was filled with chrysalises. If you were lucky enough you may be able to catch a butterfly emerging and spreading its wings for the very first time.

Looking at tarantulas

Big. Red. Tarantula.

Splashing in puddles and checking out the butterfly on the ground. When we went in, I told Isaac that if he were lucky, a butterfly may just land on his hand! Dan was quick to point out that this may not have been the best thing to say to a 2 year old. Since there may be a full on tantrum if said butterfly did not land on his hand, as Mommy had promised. Womp womp.  :/

BUT, God did us one better. Within 5 minutes of being in the terrarium, a butterfly landed square on Isaac's head. I frantically shot away.

A little blurry, but moment captured none the less. :)

It was marvelous. Tantrum averted. :) Thank you God!

Um. Favorite picture ever, maybe?

Daddy did such a good job snapping these shots. I am so thankful to have them.

The butterflies were everywhere, and were absolutely gorgeous. I could have spent hours in here. The boys, not so much.

Look at the colors!

Not to be left out, a butterfly also landed on baby girl before we left. I think it's pretty amazing that butterflies landed on both of our kiddos in the short time we were there. God is so good.

If you haven't made your way over to this exhibit yet, you need to. It is amazing! Everyday since then I have been REALLY wanting to go back. Seriously. I'm ready to go again. Right now.

Happy Fall
