7 Months Old

7 months old and looking cuter than ever!

It looks like his "friends" are trying to hold hands with him in this picture!

He was so funny, he kept staring at these guys!

....and then flashing us a smile!!!

and then back to staring at them!! SO SILLY!!

Sweet, handsome little 7 month old!!!

I could just eat him up!

"heart"

What we have learned in 7 months:

  • We now know for a fact that Isaac can sit up unassisted. It seems that he has possessed this skill for a while now, but he hasn't had anything interesting enough to sit up for!! Christmas changed all that. :0)He sits up for long extended periods of time now, playing with all of his new toys!!
  • He can roll over from his belly to his back, and his back to his belly! As evidenced from previous posts! It's pretty funny to watch him playing on his mat. He'll turn himself almost completely over onto his belly and then at the last second, as if he realizes what tragedy awaits him, he'll roll back over onto his back. Smart boy!
  • He babbles a lot, to the point where I'm pretty sure he's babbled something that would qualify as his first real word(s). He said dada, dad, and we think daddy a couple of times. What a stinker! With all of his babbling he still hasn't made it to the mmmm's yet. I chalk it up to the fact that daddy has more time at home to practice with him!! Hopefully I will soon be posting that he said mama!
  • He loves to practice standing up, our bouncer has been great practice for that!
  • We are pretty sure his favorite color is green. He has had an affinity toward green colored things since he was a baby baby. :) If having to choose between two objects, one of them happening to be green, he will more than likely choose the green one. If there are a bunch of toys in front of him, he'll grab at the green one. And so on and so forth. It is really quite interesting.
  • He loves faces. If you are close enough to him, he will grab yours. Watch out, he likes to hold onto things that are prominent. That being said, ears, noses, lips, eyeballs, and beards are all fair game. :) He especially loves beards. He can get a good grip on beards. If you are sensitive, or have a low pain tolerance, you may want to try to keep your distance. An impossible feat, I know.
  • He LOVES to eat. I think he gets it from his daddy. :o]  He really seems to love sweet peas, peaches, pears and bananas. He still loaths and despises green beans. We know this because we keep offering them to him. It takes kids being offered a new food up to 10 times to really decide whether or not they "like" it. It's true. And, eating veggies is just part of life.
  • He is such a joy. He brightens any day, no matter how foul it has been. He always has a smile waiting and is just such a sweet, sweet boy.
  • We have been without a pacifier for months now. We haven't offered it to him in forever. I'm not sure he would even know what to do with it. His hands are best for eating anyhow.
  • We have developed a bit of stranger anxiety. :/ Somewhat sad, he'll get really nervous and start crying if he see's someone new and isn't close enough to mommy or daddy. He doesn't do it all the time, and if he is in our arms when he meets someone, he does much better.
  • He is still a super pooper! Although we work much harder for it these days. He'll strain and groan so loud, his daddy will tell him that he should be embarassed! He does it in public no less!! NO SHAME I TELL YOU!
